Wedding Makeup for Brides with Auburn Red Hair/Blue Eyes

I’m usually very good with choosing cosmetic colors and make-up application, but I’m a bit unsure of what will coordinate with my skin tone and wedding attire.

I have very fair skin, with auburn/red/copper hair, and blue eyes. My wedding gown is a strapless ivory with a claret red band on the bustline and hem.

Since it is a December wedding, I will be wearing an ivory shrug or bolero jacket. I was thinking perhaps copper/brown for the eyes, but would love some other suggestions.

Thank you!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Yes, shades of brown or copper would look very good with you skin tone and hair color. You can check out the attached photo of oneof my clients with similar color trim on her wedding dress. Don’t forget to put pearly highlights under the eyebrow, to catch the light every time you turn your head! The lip color should either coordinate with claret trim on your dress or your hair color. Either choice would be fantastic and will look good in photos. Enjoy the wedding!

Hello Marillian,

Your dress sounds absolutely gorgeous! I love the Bolero jacket idea for a winter wedding, So elegant!

With your coloring and dress accent of crimson, I do agree, that coppery eye color would be a good choice. I would try to get away from the smokey eye and beige lips, and do the reverse. A cleaner fresher eye, and bolder lip to coordinate with the dress accent color. Dont forget your nails too.

Here is what I think may be an option;

Stila compact eye color quad in Marrakesh (shades of copper and warm pinkish tones)

Eyeliner: Bourjois: Waterproof Mettalic Eyeliner in #52 Dazzling Brown

Lips: LÓreal Infalliable Lipcolor in Pomegranate (long wearing formula)

Face: Covergirl Liquid Solid Compact in #710 Classic Ivory

Concealer: Givenchy Mister Light: #02

Guerlain: Terracotta Sheer brozer in Shade ,#1 Blondes, Great as a soft, natural cheek color.

Mascara: Dior Waterproof Diorshow, Black 090, great for playing up the lashes to compliment a stronger lip.

I would pick one feature, instead of coming on too strong everywhere. Sounds like that gorgeous crimson should be the focus, great for lips and nails, with your haircolor, should be a stunning combination!
