My fiance is going to wear a navy blue suit on our wedding day. I love the way it makes him look...so 1950's movie star! Incidentially, we love old movies! I think the perfect way to complete his John Newland look is top it off with a hat...maybe a fedora. My dress (spring 2005) is kinda mod, not very vintage, but it has a classic feel to it. I was wondering how I could vintage it up? I had the idea of maybe a lace shawl, or gloves. Definitely a bed of ringlets or something sexy for my hairstyle. Any other ideas?
TIA

You are a couple after my own heart. I think a fedora would be smashing to and from the ceremony/ reception and pictures! Oh! My!
Perhaps you'd like to go with a small 50's looking hat or headpiece too to complement your dress, hairstyle, and taking that "One Step Beyond" with your John Newland man.
Depending upon your wedding date, there may be time to have something custom made.
Please let me know if I can help you with custom hats (him too) or headpiece for yourself.
Wearing gloves sounds fun & fabulous ... to and from and for photos... later I'm sure you'll love to show off your ring.
Your wedding day look is very "Vintage Chic" which is very popular this season. Gloves would be a great touch to your look, maybe short lace gloves. To complete your look I would suggest to wear a Russian Tulle veil. Reese Witherspoon wore a veil like this in, "Sweet Home Alabama," and it looked great. It is a nice touch, and will really add that vintage feel to your mod/classic dress.
