Okay for mother of the groom to wear pearls?

Is it okay for mother of the groom to wear pearls or would that be more appropriate for bride and bridesmaids?

Congratulations on your son's wedding! My suggestion is: find out if the bride is planning on wearing pearls. If yes, you might want to opt for another type of jewelry. If not, it would be totally appropriate for you to wear pearls, especially if it compliments your dress! Enjoy the wedding!

I completely agree. These should be fine.
