Cost for wedding hair & makeup services

My hair is very long (down to my tush) but thin and very, very straight. I would like to wear my hair down, no veil. What type of hairdo's would look best.

I also never ever wear makeup. I understand that it will look better in picture but how do I know what will look right in terms of color? I have hazel eyes (on the browner side) and I also wear glasses.

One last thing, how much is a typical quote for a visiting hairdresser and makeup artist? I have 5 bridesmaids and I was quoted a charge $200 an hour on the day of the event and was told that 6 people generally takes 3 hours each, so approx. $600 per artist. That's $1,200? Is that average? Should I look elsewhere?

Thanks!! Cool

The prices you have do sound fair to me.

As for knowing what make-up will look best, I would tell you never book a make-up person without doing a trial first (this goes for hair too).

Take a look at magazines, not just bridal, and find some photographs of looks you like and bring them to the artist on the day of the trial.

Have them start lighter and natural and build from there so you can see the difference. Also wear a white shirt and take pictures so you can see how it would look on your wedding day.

No matter what you will be a beautiful bride.

Best Wishes
