Difference between traditional and airbrush make-up

I am having a destination wedding and am unable to travel to the location until the week of the wedding. I am trying to book everything over the internet and the phone.

Most of the make-up artists I've spoken to rave about airbrush make-up. It's so much more expensive than the traditional application. Is it really worth it? Will skin color affect the results of airbrush application? I am hispanic and have darker skin. I do not want to look like the make-up is caked on. I want a soft, natural look.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Although many makeup artists offer airbrush makeup, I am not a big fan of it. It is more expensive for clients, it does not allow the skin to breathe, and the airbrushed face looks flat. That's why models prefer not to use this technique for their faces, with the exception of body makeup, which is typically being sprayed on. Traditional makeup application will give you a much softer and natural look, and with a good makeup setting spray, like Model in a Bottle, your makeup will stay nice and fresh all day and into the night, even in hot and humid weather. Good foundations never cake on the skin, so if you are not sure what your makeup artist will be using, you can bring your own foundation that matches your skin tone and has a good staying power. Enjoy your wedding!
