MOB hairstyle - up or down?

My daughter will be married on Dec. 1 in an outdoor ceremony.

We will be having my hairstylist come to the ceremony site to do my daughter's hair and my hair. If my daughter chooses to wear her hair partially up, should I keep my hair down or partially up as well? I'm 45 and I have slightly wavy hair that is layered and just past my shoulders. I would like my hair to look nice, but also last through the outside ceremony and reception (indoors).

I'm not sure how MOB's typically wears their hair, so I would appreciate some suggestions. Thank you!

I hope I can give you some help. Up or down usually is about the formality of the wedding and time of day. The more formal the wedding, the more hair goes up. The earlier in the day, the less hair goes up. Brides and the wedding party usually go for up or half up looks but I prefer the MOB to look like mom only more polished. I would have a blow out and maybe a set with large Velcro rollers for smoothness and fullness. Get professional make-up, this is key for older women. I'm 46 so I understand. With a professional blow-out and the correct products, it will stay. Best wishes!

Thank you for your prompt reply!

The wedding is at 4:30 with the reception to follow. It will be somewhat formal. I'm wearing a long dress as will all of the bridesmaids. Knowing the time of day and formality, would you then suggest I have my hair up? I'm not sure I can afford to have my makeup professionally done. If there are products you can recommend for my age, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you. I have read through those tips in the past, but I thought they were meant for the bride. Are those products advisable for a woman in her 40's as well (with oily skin)? Or is there something specific for my age that I should use?
