I need some assistance with my make-up for my son's August wedding in Texas. I am in my early 50's, and, athough my skin is not wrinkled, I do have lines between my nose and mouth that make my face look droopy in photographs. I have dark, short hair, green eyes, very pale combination skin and a round face. My dress is navy and white.
What type and colors of makeup would you suggest?

Congratulations on your son's wedding! To even out skin tone and to make "nasolabial" lines less noticeable, use foundation primer under your foundation, then the foundation itself. Line Minimizing makeup by L'Oreal will do the job for you: it will even out your skin tone and your face will photograph well. Once done, set your makeup with Translucent Powder. The weather in Texas is hot and humid in August. Make sure you spray your face with Model in a Bottle makeup setting spray after you are done with your makeup: this miraculous product will keep your makeup fresh all day, even in hot and humid weather! Colors: For eyeshadows, use soft colors of mauve tones. Avoid blues, because they will make you look tired in photos. Soft mauve lipstick color would also look good. Don't forget to add some "extra" blush! Enjoy the wedding! Irina Feygin - IMpeccable iMage, inc. http://www.image-and-beauty.com and For Princess Bride.com http://www.forprincessbride.com
Here are a few items that I think will keep you fresh and pretty, while its hot and humid on your beautiful day!
First, prime the face with a matte light makeup primer. I like LOLA cosmetics, refine shine. Let it absorb for a minute. Then try Christian Dior, Capture Filler ( for deep lines and wrinkles, can be used by any age, anywhere on the face) Its a great wrinkle correction filler, that smooths out the skin, and blurs imperfections.
Then since it willbe so hot, try Sally Hansen airbrush makeup in a can. Its a spray on foundation that is light and fresh. Hold a little closer than arms length away from your face, with closed eyes, and give it a quick "Z" formation spray on the face. Just not while you are already dressed. Get dressed after your hair and makeup are finished. If you need extra spot coverage, spray a quick shot in the palm of your hand, and apply with a finger tip to the area that needs more coverage. Try color, "creamy natural"
For a great concealer that is not too thick, but covers well, I like the Givenchy ,Mister light concealer. It is a liquid base with a built in brush applicator. Great under eyes, and can be dotted on any darkened area, around sides of mouth, corners of eyes, to fresh and brighten up the complexion. You are probably shade number 2.
For eyes, try a matte shades of mauve and plum. Dont forget to use waterproof eyeliner and mascara. And carry a pressed powder in your purse for touch ups.
