I have read through the makeup tips referred to on this site, but I thought they were meant for the bride. Are those products advisable for a woman in her 40's as well? Or is there something specific for my age that I should use? I have oily skin and would like to keep my face shine free without it looking too dry.
I'm interested in knowing the proper makeup primer and foundation. I would also like to know the best colors to use if the color of my dress is champagne. Please suggest a color for blush, eye shadow, and lips. My hair is dark blonde and I have grey/blue eyes and somewhat fair skin.
Thank you!

Mother of the bride can have a special look, without fear of looking too made up. Since you have oily skin, and need a look that will last thru a long day, including tears of joy!
I recommend a oil absorbing toner, after your favorite cleanser. I recommend Borghese; Tonico Minerale. It is non drying, but does have micro powder at the bottom of the bottle, that will absorb excess oil, and keep skin matte.Shake bottle, and apply with a cotton ball.
Then, apply a makeup primer. I like the sephora brand makeup primer ($12.) use the size of a nickel, for face, neck, and dab a little undereyes. This will give the makeup something to hold on to, so it lasts longer.
For fair skin, blue eyes, blonde hair, and a champagne colored gown. I recommend these colors:
Sephora collection:
Eyeshadow set: #09 Abricot Pulp
blush: #4 Peach Tendre
Bourjois:
Matt lovely foundation ( oil absorbing, light feel, natural look)
Color: #24.
Waterproof eyeliner and mascara is a must:
Try the Bourjois: Pump up the volume, waterproof, black
Eyeliner: Luminous coal ( a charcoal grey)
If you have a problem with lipstick feathering/bleeding, bourjois also makes a great clear lip pencil, that acts as a broder for any color lipstick or gloss.
Lipcolor: A very long wearing lipcolor/gloss duo is available from Maybelline. Its called 12 hour shine and color. One end is colored, the other is clear (gloss). Its totally long lasting and budgeproof.
All you will need to carry is a pressed powder compact for touch ups. I like covergirl, because it blots oil, without adding a heavy, cakey, powder behind.

Thank you very much for your help! I was at a loss regarding colors and products and want to look special for the day.
I have 2 follow up questions regarding color choices: What color of the Maybelline long wearing lipcolor/gloss duo?
Also, my skin is somewhat fair but in the warm tones. The foundation you suggested is in the pink tones. My normal foundation is Clinique Superfit in Creamwhip (#15). Could I wear the Bourjois Matt lovely foundation in the #23?
