To Glitter or not to Glitter?

I have been reading in many places that glitter doesnt photograph well for wedding pictures. I really dont know what to do though. My wedding is a Fantasy/Fairytale theme and I am a glitter kind of girl. I adore all things sparkly. I had planned to have makeup similar to Drew Barrymore in the movie 'Ever After' (the scene when she's at the ball).

Now I am worried that while i'll look fabulous and fairylike upclose and personal, my photos will be awful.

Is there a happy medium? Or should I nix the glitter? (my poor heart)

Also...why is it exactly that glitter doesnt photograph well?

Thank you in advance,

Sandi~

Dear Soon2BSandra D:

Maybe what you can do is have some eye jems/embellishments placed on the corner of your eyes. They aren't overbearing or anything like that. They are made for the face, come in all kinds of colors and are just large enough to cast a wonderful sparkle and give you that 'magical' look. This way, you will still get that sparkle you want so much. I recommend employing a professional make up artist to do this, if you choose to go this route.

The reason glitter doesn't photograph well is because it catches light and makes the photos look funny.

Cheers!

The reason it is hard to photograph glittery make-up is that it reflects light. So it ends up looking like a white spot on the skin.

If you are really set on this look I would suggest speaking to your photographer and make-up artist and doing a trial run.

See how the pictures look and then if they look good go with it but if they are not what you are expecting, you and your make-up artist can make the necessary changes to achieve a look you are both happy with and that photographs well.
