is SPF makeup bad for weddings?

A couple of friends have told me that I should not use SPF makeup for my wedding b/c it reflects the flash and makes your face look different from your body. I have noticed in some of my pics (just home pics and things) that if I am close to the camera it does this, but not when I'm not right up on it. I use bare essentials (which I love), but I'm wondering if I should get some makeup through somewhere like MAC, b/c I know they have some makeup that is specific for photography. I am going to search for the model in a bottle makeup setting spray that I read about on another forum too. Also, I have large pores around my nose; shoudl I try to get a few facials before the wedding or does anyone have other suggestions? I coudl use a base primer to fill them in, but I don't know. The wedding is in two months. Thanks!!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! You can certainly use MAC makeup, but based on my vast experience, Ideal Balance by L'Oreal will give you the best results when topped with Translucent Powder. Ideal Balance is always available at your local drug store; it stays on and photographs very well, true to color. Model in a bottle is available through my website makeup boutique. As to the large pores, you can do two things: 1) you can have a few facials prior to the wedding; just make sure your last facial is at least 2 weeks before the wedding to avoid possible irritation and 2) you can use primer, such as Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch by Clarins (France). This is brand-new excellent product, available at your local department store. Enjoy the wedding!
