The only rule about hair that I know of is related to the religion of the ceremony and whether the head should be covered. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
The rule book has been thrown out! The only rule on your wedding hairstyle is to do what you want and like! My suggestion is to look through magazines and see what different hair styles you like. First of all...you need to decide if you want your hair up or down. Being in the hair and make-up industry we have seen a lot of trendy and classic hair styles for all types of weddings.
Here are a few suggestions:
Up-Do: You can wear your hair all up high. Think big!!! It is classic to wear your hair in a bun, but it is trendy to have your bun over-sized.
Up Low-Do: You can have your hair pulled back in a low chignon or flower/pretzel style.
Half up/down: Look in magazines for the Melissa Sweet ads. The model has her hair done in big romantic curls with half of the hair pulled back lose off her face. This is a really popular look for a lot of our brides.
All down: You can wear your hair done in all large romantic curls. You can even add hair extensions for a full look.
Just as a side note...hair that is pulled back tight will give a more traditional look and hair that is pulled back with a more natural look is more romantic. It all depends on what you are looking for.
Also, I suggest working with a professional hair stylist that can help you with what looks best with your shaped face. The oval is the ideal shaped face, and a professional can help give you that look by sweeping hair across your forehead, leaving pieces down, it's amazing the magic they can work.
As for your hair accessories, we have seen a lot of brides using hair pins and flowers as their hair jewelry. Another trend this season for hair accessories are headbands. If you are not getting your hair done professionally the day of your wedding, I highly suggest having a hair trial with a professional to help you decide on the perfect style. Plus she/he can give you tips of how to make your hair picture perfect for the big day! Lori of ModelBride.com http://www.modelbride.com
