     wedding makeup colours

Hi,

I have decided that the bridesmaids and I will be doing our own makeup on the big day. My wedding colors are chocolate brown, pink (either pale pink or fuschia) and sage/lime green. The girls will be wearing chocolate brown. I wasn't sure if you could recommend a color pallet and whether we should all be wearing the same makeup colors? Cool colors work best on all of us. Thanks

Hello Sarah Dawn,

The colors sound beautiful and flattering! But I need more specifics about the bridal party. Can you give me a breakdown of each person, skin tone, haircolor and eyecolor please? I will try to recommend appropriate cosmetics.

Thankyou,

Thanks for replying so quickly. Below is the summary:

Sarah (Bride): skintone pale (I usually wear one of the palest foundations); hair colour: dirty blond/light brown; eyes: blue

Kate (bridesmaid): pretty much the same as the bride

Alisha (bridesmaid): skintone: slightly darker but still light; hair colour: brown; eyes: brown.

I hope this helps

Hello Sarah Dawn,

Brown is the newest, trendiest color for bridesmaids. It a natural and flattering tone for all complexions, and looks great for daytime and evening weddings. Here are some cosmetics that I think would be a perfect fit for you and the bridal party..........

Bourjois Cosmetics (available at Ulta stores):

For you Sarah Dawn: (fair complexion, dark blonde hair, blue eyes)

Foundation: Lovely Matt (Fair Abricot, #22)

Eyeshadow trio: Silver Black/ Argents #46

Eyeliner: Waterproof Liner Mettalise (luminous Coal)

Blush: Rose de Jaspe #95

Concealer: Peau Claire #81 (Brush tip applicator)

Powder: Abricot pastel tint

Lipstick: Rose Doux Perle (lovely perle collection)

Lipgloss: Effect 3D Rose Artic #15

-------------------------------------------------------

For Bridesmaid Kate:(similiar coloring to bride)

Foundation, concealer, blush, same choices as yours.

Powder: Compact #71

Eyeshadow trio: Golden Browns # 41

Eyeliner: Effet Metalise Dazzling Brown

Lipgloss; Eau de Gloss #12

-----------------------------------------------------

Bridesmaid #2 Alisha (Light complexion, brown hair and eyes)

Foundation: Lovely Matt #23 Medium golden

Concealer stick: #12 Beige Dore

Powder Compact #73

Blush: Rose Frisson #54

Eyeshadow trio: Bruns Cuivres #41

Eyeliner: Effet Mettalise: Dazzling Brown

Lipstick: Corail Perle (lovely perle collection)

Lipgloss: Beige Theoric #16

For all: Mascara Maxi frange waterproof : Black

*For dry and flaky lips try: Double ended buffing balm, (mini buffer in the cap, and moisturizing lip balm in a wand)

*For a longer lasting lip, and bleed free lipline, try their Colorless lip liner as a border for any lipcolor and skintone.

*Practice makes perfect!, give yourself a trial run to see your look before the wedding day.

Enjoy!

Hello Sarah,

Michelle gave you excellent and detailed advise, and you should definitely use the colors she has recommended. Your other concern should be the "survivability" of your makeup, which should last all day and into the night while looking nice and fresh. After you finish applying foundation, set it with a light dusting of Translucent Powder. That will set the foundation and will make it stay fresh longer. Apply Eye Shadow Base before applying your eye shadows. That will hold them in place and prevent creasing. Don't forget to use the waterproof mascara only! Remember: you might get emotional, and your bridal party can get emotional as well! To "seal" your makeup after the application is finished, spray your face with Model in a Bottle makeup setting spray. That will keep your makeup nice and fresh all day and into the night. You can visit my website for more information and for printable "professional makeup application tips". Enjoy!
