     Bachelor Party Gift Etiquette

My best friend is getting married and my husband has been invited to the Bachelor Party. Me and my husband are friends of the bride and have become friends of the groom. The brothers of the groom and some close friends have decided to get the groom a Rolex as a gift and have asked my husband to chip in a large amount of money. I feel that the gift is inappropriate and think that it is rude of these guys to expect us to chip in that kind of money for this gift. We have already spent a lot of money on a couples bridal shower and gifts, plus I'm hosting the bachelorette party and have spent money on that too. We are tapped and I just cannot justify this expenditure. How should we handle this without my husband becoming embarrassed?

Dear Tapped,

Honestly. Just be honest. Gifts are not part of a bachelor party. If the others wish to do this, it is their deal. Just be honest.

Best wishes,
