I am in my really good friends wedding next year. Already most of the bridal party has decided on an 'out of town' bachelorette. We live in Canada and they are planning to have this bachelorette in Miami- including a flight and hotel. i already know that i will be required to pay for part of the brides flight/hotel on top of my own (if I attend) as well as normal wedding expenses (dress, shoes, stag and doe costs, shower, gift, etc.). I have since voiced my opinion that I think it is expensive and a unnecessary cost for the bridal party (I dont make as much as other members of the bridal party). Their response to me was that I "could start saving money now" , which I don't really think is the point.
Am I out of line to say that I don't think I can afford to go and think it is expensive?

A bachelorette party is an optional event. You don't need to feel obligated. If you cannot afford to attend simply decline with apologies. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
