Our son has asked his father to go the the bachelor party; should he go?

If both the groom and his father are comfortable with this arrangement then sure, why not? Perhaps your husband should find out just what sort of party is planned so he will know ahead of time if it's something he'll feel comfortable attending. Once there, your husband can always make an exit if there is behavior he feels is unacceptable or embarassing to him. My guess is that this party will not be too wild since your son is asking his father to be there.
