What is a personal shower

I have never heard of a personal shower & the invite says the Personal Shower is from 7-9 and the Bachelorette Party starts at 9. What is a personal shower? Do I bring a gift & if so what kind?

Dear Shower Guest,

I'd ask. People are making things up as they go. I think this is supposed to be a lingerie party, but these days you never know.
