Is it ok to have my 14 year old niece as maid of honor?

Dear XX,

She would be better suited to be a Jr. Bridesmaid. But, it is becoming more and more common to include children this young as honor attendants, especially for encore weddings. So, if this is an informal wedding, it is perfectly fine.

She would be too young to host any of your prewedding parties. So, please consider this. All of these parties are optional though. So, there is no guarantee that an older MOH would host one for you anyway.

Best wishes,

She can certainly serve that role if it is meaningful to you - just understand that she will be unable to fulfill a lot of the other pre-wedding obligations of an honor attendant.
