2 attendents on brides side, 4 on grooms (2 female)

Originally, the groom and I were to each have 3 attendants (MOH & 2 bridesmaids, Best man and 2 groomsmen/ushers). One of my bridesmaids backed out quite recently, and since the wedding is one month away, I don't feel it is appropriate to ask someone else to step in. The problem is that my fiancee was a little confused and now has his best man and three other attendants. Two of his attendants are females, so would it be appropriate for me to "move" one of his attendents to my side to even things out? (I know one of the gals very well, but haven't met the other friend since she lives out of state.) He's mentioned asking one of the attendents (the male) to step down, but I'd hate to have him do that, yet I want things a bit more even. I am not sure if this has been answered before... I saw one thread that said it's OK to have an uneven amount, but nothing about the logistics of it. Any advise would be helpful!

thanks!

It is true that the sides don't have to be even. Many times they are not.

Attendants walk from shortest to tallest. If the groomsmen (ladies) will be escorting your bridesmaids, she/he could escort two.

Yes, you could ask one of the ladies to move over to your side. But, it should be her choice.
