Asking Autistic Sister to be Maid of Honor

My daughter is getting married and wants to have her autistic sister in the bridal party as a flower girl. My issue with this is that her sister is 19 and functions very well. I feel that her sister deserves the honor of being the maid of honor. I realize that the other brides maids will do most of the jobs required of the maid of honor, I just feel this is something her sister will never again be asked to do due to her disability. Please let me know if this is ok to do.

She has asked her sister to be a member of the bridal party and that is an honor. As a mother, I understand your feelings, but, you have to let your daughter make this decision.

I agree it is your daughter's decision to choose her attendants. But, please let your daughter know that her sister is way too old to be a flower girl.

Oh geeze, I didn't notice that she asked her sister to be a flower girl. That could be very embarrassing for everyone involved. A 19 year old, no matter what her disability, could/should only be an attendant. Sorry I missed that.
