Asking someone to be your maid of honor

I am looking for a creative way to ask my best friend to be my maid of honor. She is in Florida and I am in Virginia and want it to be more personal than just calling her up and asking her. Anyone have some creative ideas? Thanks

This may be too corny but what about a singing telegram? Crazy

Get a copy of an official Subpoena document and have it edited in a graphics program to include her name, the date of the event, etc. Not only would it be a fun way of getting her attention, but she could keep the treasured subpoena as a souvenir of the event. You might even consider this tongue in cheek maneuver for your rehearsal dinner invitations.
