I am getting married in June and my Fiance lives in the US. We are getting married in Canada and aren't even sure what Ushers he is having and how many people will even be coming up. I have 2 sisters and they are automatically in the wedding and since we are only having 85 people that is all I wanted for my wedding. My best friend however is assuming she is the maid of honor since I was hers. I think if i talk to her she will understand but
1. can you have more girls than guys or vice versa for your wedding party or is it better to have the same
2. what could i ask my best friend to do to still make her feel special in my wedding?

Hello Susan,
There does seem to be an assumption that when you are maid of honor that the honor would be reciprocated. I am sure she will understand if you express your desire to have only your sisters stand up for you. You can have an uneven number of attendants if that works out for you.
