     Bridal Party Gift Ideas?

Hello everyone. This is my first question, i just signed up today! I am getting married in 4 months and am having a destination wedding in the mountains. I am having 3 bridesmaids and need a very classy idea of gifts i can give them for being in my wedding. Their ages are 18, 20, and 30 but they are all fun girls with outgoing personalities that appreciate the "finer" things in life and are deep thoughtful people. Just the standard picture frame and thank you note will not do these girls justice. So, I had considered monogramming something for them. I am just at a loss for ideas. I am crafty so i would love to MAKE them something but don't care to spend money either. I just am trying to keep costs down. I am still in college and my fiance and I are paying for this whole shebang ourselves!!! Any ideas????

Hello...and welcome!

If you want to make something (do you even have time though???) how about some handmade photo albums, the kind you cover in fabric. You could personalize the cover with a photograph of the whole group of girls.

Here are some places to buy personalized wedding and bridal party gifts online:

Ashmont Engraving
Personalized groomsmen gifts, plus holiday and special occasion gifts. Selection includes custom glassware, key chains, executive gifts, cigar and golf accessories, pocket flasks, keepsake boxes, and pocket knives.

All great ideas. One gift that I received years ago and still own because it meant so much to me is a needle point picture. She wrote about me being a wonderful friend on a beautiful background. This was over 20 years ago and I still have it on the wall.

And, I am not a person who collects anything.

Best wishes,

Future Mrs. Killen:
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Now to your dilemna - You mentioned the bridesmaids ages, but nothing was said of their interest so my suggestion is that this would be a good place to start. Knowing their interests would lead you in the right direction and enable you to find plenty of gifts that would suit their fancy. For example, if one of your bridesmaids is into do-it-yourself projects or likes to fix up her home, Barbara K Tools (http://www.barbarak.com) has designer series tools, if you will, specifically for women. They range from smaller size tools to better fit the female grasp, all the way up to a variety of colors and prints to match the decor itself.
Good luck!

Dear Bride-To-Be,

I think it is a great idea to make the gifts if you have time. A great gift to make the girls is jewelry. You can get the same color stones, crystals, pearls, and beads, but make each item a little different. This way each of the girls gets something that you made and reflects their personality. Like maybe the younger girls like trendy, funkier things, so you could make them a cool pair of chandelier earrings and multi-strand beaded bracelet. And for the woman that is 30 make her the same bracelet, but maybe make her earrings a little different. Like a one to three strand drop earring with a cluster of beads at the end or scattered throughout the strands. I just think that making jewelry is great because it is always fun to wear and the girls will be able to think of you each time they put the jewelry on.

Have fun,
