My brother's getting married very soon, and I am the MOH. I don't really know the bride that well, because they haven't been together that long. She said she doesn't want a bridal shower, partially because I think she's shy and doesn't want to be apart from him. I'm throwing a luncheon for our families to meet formally before the festivities, and I'm not quite sure how to word the invitation. She says she doesn't want a shower, so what do you call it???Unsure

Dear Seachel,

It would be a luncheon and shouldn't appear to be a shower. You may have to verbally inform your guests that this is not a gift giving event, because they may be confused as this isn't a typical pre-wedding event.

Best wishes,
