I asked my bridesmaids to participate in my BIG Day soon after I got engaged. Now, 3 months later one of my bridesmaids isn't making any effort to be my friend. I don't know what to do. I talked to her about it once, and I told her that I didn't want somebody i barely knew anymore to stand up there with me on my wedding day. She said she understood and wanted to make more effort. Well, there has been no effort. What do i do?? Do i put up with it and just let it stand as is or do i ask her to step down and ask another friend who I am much closer to be my bridesmaid? PLEASE HELP!

Dear Bride,
I'm not sure what you mean about "isn't making any effort to be my friend." Everyone has their own life and stresses and her actions or lack of such may not have anything to do with her feelings for you. If you expect that all of your bridesmaids dote on you all of the time, you just may be disappointed.
To be a bridesmaid these days is very expensive in time and money. We should all be sensitive to this. Brides aren't the only ones who feel the stress.
It is your choice to let her go. But, please review your expectations before choosing anyone else. Plus, realize that doing so may destroy your relationship with this person.
