Calling unmarried mother a maid or matron of honor?
I am asking my older sister to be the head of my bridal party. My problem is, however, that she is an unmarried mother (never was married). So would she be considered my Matron of Honor becuase she's a mother? Or my Maid of Honor because she's not married? I'm not sure which direction to go or what protocol is for this situation.....Help!

The different titles of Maid and Matron of Honor refer only to marital status. She would be a Maid of Honor.
