We are having troubles deciding who should be part of the bridal party. We want a smaller, more informal wedding (maybe even a destination wedding).
I do not have many friends, but the ones I do have are very important to me. I can't imagine picking some over others to be in the wedding party. My list of potential bridesmaids is down to 7, which is ridiculous for an informal of destination wedding. Can we just skip the whole wedding party? Is it rude to be in someone's wedding and then not invite them to be in yours? I just want this to be a low stress, fun ceremony and avoid hurting any ones feelings. Any thoughts?

For an informal wedding you need only 2 witnesses to sign the license. You don't need any bridal party. And, you do not have to reciprocate if invited to be a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I completely agree. Plus, two important notes: the number of attendants reflect the formality (or the opposite) of the event, and the couple is responsible for the lodging costs of their attendants (at least two nights). So, plan well. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
