Creating a Role for Tweenie Niece

I will have a very small wedding party. My dearest friend (a male) will be me "Friend of Honor" and my fiance's best friend will be his Best Man. My 5 year old niece has agreed to be our flower girl. But I'm unsure how to include my fiance's only niece. Having just turned 12, she's too old to be a second flower girl, in my opinion. We won't be having a guest book at the ceremony so being that attendant isn't a possibility either.

As she is my fiance's only niece we do want to include her some way as we are including my niece. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Your neice can be a junior bridesmaid. And, just for the record, the proper title for your friend would really be honor attendant. Smile

Thank you for giving the correct term to use for my friend! Smile

So it is appropriate to have her as a junior bridesmaid even though I don't have traditional bridesmaids nor would there be a junior groomsman as an escort?

Since your only attendant is a man then maybe allow the best man to escort the junior bridesmaid during the recessional. It may be a bit unconventional but, heck, your attendant is a man - nothing conventional about that, right?

No one has to be escorted.

**chuckle**

Yes, I have managed to toss many conventions out the window for this wedding so you are correct in a slight modification to another is of no real matter. I'll discuss the suggestion with my fiance tonight and approach his sister (niece's mom) this weekend for her opinion if he's amenable to the solution.

Thank you for your advice!
