Do I send a a thank you note for a thank you gift?

Do bridesmaids send the bride a thank you note for thank you gifts given to them by the bride at the bridal luncheon?

Does the aunt of the bride send a thank you note to the parents of the bride for a thank you gift given to aunt by MOB?

In otherwords, do we send a thank you note for a thank you gift?

Dear Mary,

If given in person, you have already thanked the giver. If a gift is shipped or given to you by a third party, then a thank you note is expected because you haven't thanked the giver yet.

Best wishes,
