     Ex-bridesmaid demands money

My wedding is now 2 1/2 weeks away. About a week ago I informed one of my bridesmaids that she was no longer invited to be a part of our wedding. This decision was due to her behavior the last 6 months ending with her yelling at me in public on my bachelorette party night. She has done nothing but cause me stress and heartache in the last 6months. I made my decision and informed her of it over the phone. She replied by demanding money for everything she has spent.

I just received her receipts in the mail which total over $500. The receipts included gifts that she had bought me two months ago for my shower as well as shoes I did not tell her to purchase and receipts that were not itemized. She also threatened a law suit if she did not receive money by my wedding date.

I realize that I should pay for the dress but I am just curious how much more I should be obligated to pay for??? Crazy

Dear Stressed,

In my opinion you are only obligated to reimburse her for those items you requested that she purchase for your wedding.

Best wishes,
