I broke etiquette and want to make it up!

Hello! I have seven wonderful bridesmaids and they are all flying down to Florida for my wedding. I just found out that I am responsible for at least one night of their lodging, as part of my obligation as the bride. unfortunately, my wedding hotel requires them to put down the balance to secure the room and they have all down this already! I feel awful and really want to make this up to them, but is sending them a check tacky? they have paid for their dresses and I am arranging for a day long event for each of them ($100 each) before the rehearsal dinner. I was also thinking of offering to pay for their hair and makeup to make up for my not paying for a hotel room, but that still doesn't feel like I am doing the best I can do for them. Do you have any suggestions for me? I just didn't know until it was too late, I should have done a better job finding that out up front!

Dear Amelia,

Please don't beat yourself up too much about this. A lot of people don't know about this. So, perhaps you could pay for their hair and makeup. That would be a very nice gesture.

Best wishes,
