I have been waiting for a potential bridesmaid to reply-for 3 weeks

Hi, I have an appointment, along with my bridesmaids, to buy their dresses for the wedding. All the girls accepted my invitation to be bridesmaids for the wedding, however, an additional one is not replying. She stated that she might be out of the state at this time, and that she'll definitely know within one week. I have been waiting for her reply for 3 weeks and she hasn't called or anything. I don't want to feel like I'm forcing anyone, and I'm totally fine with her saying that she can't be one.. but I just need her to say that. What should I do? I didn't want to call her again, as I already did that once, and she said the same thing, to wait! Any suggestions? Also, should I hold a dress for her when we go this weekend, because she won't be coming? Thank you!!

Call her and sweetly let her know that you'll be fine of she can't stand up with you, for whatever the reason. She may be feeling economically crunches like many of us are now. Give her a way out, but let her know that you need to have an answer immediately in order to get dresses ordered.

If you really can't live without this woman as part of your wedding party, and she has an issue she needs to iron out before committing, you might be able to wait for her to get her dress. Ask the shop for delivery information.
