If your having a civil wedding do you have a wedding party?

My fiancee and I have decided to have a civil wedding since some things have happened and we have decided on a smaller wedding. We are thinking about getting married at a ballroom of our choice. The question is since we aren't doing a church wedding do we still have a wedding party? We had originally thought about having flower girls, bridesmaids, ring bearers, etc. I have never been to a civil wedding like this. The reception will be done at the ballroom as well. Neither one of us knows if we need a wedding party and if so how big? please help

You do not have to have a wedding party at all. That is up to you. Traditionally the wedding party serves as your witnesses to sign your certificate but you can have family or anyone you choose to sign.
