Ok this is probably going to seem a wee bit strange but here goes. My FH and I have no children per say right now its just us and our furry fourlegged pups Bailey & Cherub and they are our babies. We are getting married Sept 22, 2007 so here's my question. We want our dogs to carry our rings in our wedding with our nephews leading them down the aisle..... now heres the tricky part our dogs are not exactly Chihuahua's (both are about the size of a border collie) Would it be inappropriate to have the Best Man and MOH both are parents of our nephews walk with the boys and the dogs down the aisle just so that the boys arent trying to deal with our dogs all by themselves. Both of our dogs are very well behaved but I 'm of the opinion that no matter how eell behaved they might be it is still asking a lot of two 5yr olds to handle them on thier own. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Hello Miravelle,
My first suggestion is that you check with your venue as to whether you are allowed to bring your dogs. If they do in deed allow them, I think you have to sacrifice the boys and use the parents to guide the dogs in. You are creating a bit of a distraction with the dogs and the children wouldn't be able to handle the "what if's". Having both the boys and the parents would be overwhelming and it would lose it's meaning to you. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

I agree. Please do read all of them, because as a person who was attacked by 'well behaved' dogs I'm fearful of all dogs now. If I was one of your guests, I would be jumping from my seat and out the door when the dogs appeared. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
