My question is in regards to selecting my Maid/Matron's of Honor. My best friend asked me to be her MOH for her wedding 4 years ago. Last year, my younger sister asked me and our other sister to be the maids of honor in her wedding. Truth be told, my sisters are NOT my best friends so I was greatly surprised that she even wanted me in the wedding, let alone be MOH. It is now time to plan my own wedding and I have been told both my sisters are expecting me to ask them to be my MOH's. I wouldn't mind asking them if having 3 MOH's wasn't completely ridiculous... unfortunately it is. My mother, who is a wedding coordinator has said that family comes first and that my two sisters should be my MOH's. I completely disagree. To make matters worse, my fiance has chosen his two brothers to be his best men. How bad would it be to choose my best friend over my sisters? Thank you!!

Your mother should really know better both as a coordinator and also as a mother. You should ask the person closest to you. Ask your sisters to be bridesmaids (if that's what you want) and tell them (white lie) that you just couldn't choose between them. Hopefully, they will understand or, at least, be okay with it. I completely agree. It is your decision and you shouldn't be pushed to choose anyone but those closest to you. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
