MOH dress different than other maids?

I'm new - so forgive me if this has been asked before. I searched and couldn't quite find this question.

My MOH is my best friend of over 15 years. We have been doing a lot of planning & gathering ideas. We tried on dresses, and I think I may have found mine. She said it was traditional for the MOH's dress to be "similar" to the Bride's? The style we are looking at for her dress, would also match the flower girl's and junior bridesmaid (who is my daughter). My dress is white, with a "bunched up" style to it, with diamond embroidery along these bunches - and hers is similar, but not quite the exact same. I'm not sure if this makes sense, so if you need clarification, feel free to say so. :)

Sorry :] That would help, wouldn't it?

Is it appropriate for her dress to mirror the style of my dress?

Dear Snorth,

No, it isn't. Her dress shouldn't appear to be a wedding dress in a different color. Your ladies should be dressed about the same. Please don't dress your little ladies as little brides either. This isn't proper and can appear a bit odd.

Best wishes,

Thank you!
This is exactly what I was trying to figure out :)
She was trying to tell me that it would "look good" if her dress sort of "resembled" mine, and then the flower girls dress could resemble that same style, etc.
Thanks for your help! Wink
