Maid of Honor 16yrs old - Best Man 48yrs old...what do we do??

Unsure My little sister is going to be my Maid of Honor but my fiance wants his friend that is in his late 40s to be his best man. I have tried to explain to him that they are going to be uncomfortable with this. Not to mention that the guy is around 6'6 and everyone else in the wedding is under 5'6. Plus the wedding party is all under 29 years old. What can we do?? I want my fiance to be happy with who he has standing beside him that day. Is there something we can do to make this work?? I just feel that it is going to look odd and that they are going to be uncomfortable.

Please Help!!

Dear Gina,

Relax and let your fiance have his friend as his best man. It happens all the time that sizes and ages don't match and no one is uncomfortable with it at all.

Dear Gina:

We choose our wedding attendants based on who is close to us. Your sister is close to you and his friend is close to him. There is no rule that says your MOH and Best Man must be the same age, height, etc.

You asked what can you do to work this out but I don't think there is anything to work out. What I perceive your concern to be is that your Fiance's Best Man is older and tall. That's not enough to justify asking him to choose someone else.
