Maid of honor Pay for bachelorette party and shower?

Hi there. I am a MOH in an upcoming wedding and was wondering if I was required to throw and pay for both the bachelorette party and the bridal shower. I know that the bridal party pitches in for the bachelorette party but I am unsure about the bridal shower. Does the MOB pitch in or plan that? Thanks!

Both are optional parties. No one is obligated to host either. But, if you'd like to organize/host you can ask the rest of the bridal party if they would like to participate. Mothers don't plan showers or attend bachelorette parties.

Please see our many other posts on these subjects in the particular category forums.
