Must we have a bridal party?

This will my third marriage and second for my fiance. I had medium-large weddings both times, while he got married at the courthouse. Now we can't agree on the type of wedding we want. We are both in our 40's. I don't want a bridal party at all, or maybe one person, on the other hand he wants his 4 brothers. I think that we are too old for a big bridal party, he wants the works. What can we both do to compromise????

Dear 3rd Time Bride,

You are not too old for big bridal party. He didn't have this experience, so this is all new to him. Perhaps you could have two brothers on your side and he can have two on his.

Best wishes,
