     No Maid of Honor

In about a year, my boyfriend and I plan to get married.
My boyfriend has his ushers and best man picked out already.
But I don't have a Maid of Honor!!!
I have female acquintances, but I don't feel close to them and comfortable with any of them being my maid of honor, only bridesmaids.
I have a lot of close female cousins, but they all live a distance away.(country apart).
Any suggestions?
I just want a simple formal wedding, maybe 150 to 200 guests.

Dear Shelly Mavis,

When you have searched all of your options and still don't feel you have anyone close enough to serve as a maid of honor, you can eliminate the maid of honor entirely. It is not out of the ordinary for any wedding to have uneven numbers of attendants.
