     Out of Country MOH

My friend lives in Canada and asked me to be her MOH for her wedding. I said yes, but I asked if perhaps there was someone closer (in Canada) who would be better for the job. I've never been a MOH, and I don't want to be a terrible one. I don't know the other bridesmaids and one is her sister who is flaky and lazy.

How can I be a good MOH while living in a different country?

Dear mkf1234, the duties of maid of honor will require travel to where the wedding will be held. The MOH is expected to assist the bride with planning the wedding, addressing invitations, supervising the bridesmaids, etc. If you do not feel that you can perform the necessary duties, you should reconsider your acceptance.
