I chose a friend as my Matron of Honor back in August because I thought she was really organized, would do a good job, and she was one of my closest friends. Since she accepted the job I have not heard much from her and understand that she's going through some life issues, however my wedding that was scheduled for February 15 has now been pushed back to April so I can have more time to plan. Because of this delay I don't want to continue with my current selection. What is the proper way to tell her that I want a different person as my Maid/Matron of Honor (Letter, phone message, in person), or should I accept her non-contact as a resignation? Dear Finally Found Love,
Perhaps she was waiting for you to contact her. You would be doing all of the planning, unless she wanted to host a shower or bachelorette party for you. And, it seems odd to change attendents based on a change of wedding dates. It wouldn't be polite to do this. But, if you feel that you must, it is better to do this face to face.
