Wedding Attendants but no maid of honor and best man

Is it acceptable to only have attendants and no Maid/Matron of Honor or Best Man? We dont want to single out some friends as "more special" than others.

Dear Katie,

There is no etiquette law requiring couples to choose an honor attendant. But, if you don't, you will have to distance yourself from your attendants, or your guests will assume the one closest to you is your MOH. The last attendant walking down the aisle is usually the MOH. So, you may want to sort all of them by height. Plus, who carries the rings? Both of you or your officiant could, I suppose.

So, consider the logistics of the entire ceremony and how it will flow.

Best wishes,
