asking groom's sisters to be attendants

Unsure I am in the stages of planning my wedding and have reached a question that i have no idea what the answer could be. My future husband has 3 sisters and a sister-in-law, and they are a pretty close family, we had intended on asking his older sister to be a bridesmaid from the beginning. We planned on asking his sister-in-law and brother to be our host couple. Would it be insulting to his other two sisters to not be attendants in the wedding? I am planning on having all three of my sisters in the wedding, because in my family that is how you do things, and i wouldn't want anyone if I couldn't have them. I have been asking almost everyone I know what the proper etiquette would be for this situation and have been getting so many different answers, so I wanted to hear it from the experts. please help!

The short answer to your question is - yes, it would be insulting to the other two sisters because although you can rationalize in your mind why his older sister should be in the wedding, the other two will not see it that way. You are not obligated to have any of them as your wedding attendants, if they are not close to you. And, I do understand what you are saying about why ALL of your sisters need to be in the wedding. With that being said, if you can find some place, or alternative roles for your future sister-in-laws to hold, I believe it will go a long way toward forging positive relationships with them, and maybe even keep down some tension with the future family.
