     bride setting up hair appointments

I found a similar post to this question, but not exactly. The bride has set up appointments for bridesmaids to have their hair done. She has not mentioned who is responsible for paying and if they are optional. How do you ask the bride if this is "required" and if so, is she paying? Also, if she says she is not paying, how do I tell her that I'm opting out (I'm already spending a bundle)?

Dear Bettyb,

It is best to be honest and ask her outright about if you are expected to pay for this, as most expect it. It is a very gray area. I believe that if the bride demands it or she makes the appointment, then she is obligated to pay. If she requests it and the bridesmaids agree, then it is their obligation. But, not many view it the same way.

Best wishes,
