     cant decide on my bridesmaids

I got myself into a pickle. I was shopping with a good friend last summer and while we were dreaming and looking at wedding dresses, i had mentioned that she should be in my wedding. Now that the time has come , i haven't been in touch with her all year. And i really don't want her to be in my wedding anymore, neither does my finance'. How can i break the news to her that she's not in it. She is expecting to be one of the bridesmaids. But i only have room for four and she's not one of them. And a girl i met a year ago and became very close to is in the wedding. and the old friend doesn't care for this friend. so it's all a mess for me. Unsure

Also , i grew up with my best friend up until 2 years ago she moved away now i never see her, and rarely talk. Is it rude after always saying we would be each others maid of honors, to not have her in the wedding at all. I don't want to, and it is my wedding! but i still feel really bad about it. Frown someone please help me. i don't know what to say to them.

Dear In a Pickle,

It would be best to be honest with both of them. After all this was mentioned in the past and the subject not broached in the present. Only include those with whom you are close and can rely upon for your attendants.

You may be doing these ladies a huge favor anyway. It is very expensive in money and time to be a bridesmaid these days.

Be very tactful, honest, and empathetic when speaking with them.

Best wishes,
