     is rehearsal dinner attendance required?

Hello--

I am a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding and also a brand new mom Smile. I am having some anxiety about attending all of the pre-wedding events. I am returning to work the week before the wedding and it will be very difficult to immediately ask for time off to attend the bridal tea (on a weekday), etc. Plus I don't want to be away from my baby any longer than I have to...I am breastfeeding and will have to pump quite often on the LONG (9 am - 11 pm) wedding day...yikes! Shocked Could I politely bow out of attending the rehearsal dinner? I will go to the actual rehearsal straight from work, but then I'd rather go home to my baby rather than attend the dinner...is that okay or terrible of me??

Thank you.

Dear Christine,

The rehearsal dinner is optional for everyone. You may skip it.

Best wishes,
