     2 year old ring bearer

My son will be 2 when my sister in laws get married next year. They did not ask me if he could be in it, they TOLD me he was in it. Isn't 2 a little young to be in a wedding? He is adorable and well behaved but he might not make it down the aisle and now I'm a little worried. My husband is an usher in both weddings, (he will also be in another wedding next year, but he will be almost 3 by then) would it be OK for him to walk our little one down the aisle? I'm scared he will run away and cry. One wedding is in a very large church. I understand they want their only nephew in their weddings, but will he be OK?

If you and your husband don't want your son to be in the bridal party you should speak up now. No one can tell you he needs to participate. You must agree. You can surely tell the couple that, although flattered, you feel your toddler will be too young and unpredictable. No one will be able to tell you if he will perform properly.

If you agree to allow him to participate know that his unpredictability is expected. Just practice with him and make it as much fun as possible and let the chips fall where they may. If the bride and groom aren't worried about his level of participation then neither should you.
