3 year old as ring bearer

Hi! My 8 year old daughter will be the flower girl at my wedding in June. I was thinking of having my financé's nephew (3 years old) be the ring bearer. Would this look bad? There is quite a bit of difference in height between them. My other option would be his other nephew, who is 11 years old. Again, there is some height difference. Or would we just call him a junior groomsman? Also, do they walk down the isle together?

Dear Yvette,

#1. You don't have to have a ring bearer just because you have a flower girl.

#2. 3 year olds are very unpredictable. If you know this 3 year old can perform, then I'd go with him. If you chose to include the 11 year old please use him as a junior groomsman. Child attendants are normally between 3 and 7 years old.

#3. If the 3 year old is capable of walking alone he would enter behind the maid of honor. It is acceptable to have the flower girl and ring bearer walk in together. Size doesn't matter.

Thank you Nancy! I do think the 3 year old can do job, so I will have him as the ring bearer. If he doesn't seem up to it, then we'll just leave him out.... No biggy!
