Do I have to have flower girl/ring bearer?

I do not have any neices or nephews, and the only children in my extended family are either too old or way too young. Besides, I really do not want to have children in the wedding party. Is this ok? or are they necessary to make the wedding party complete?

Flower girl and ring bearer are totally optional.
