     Fiancee's children

Hi,

We are getting married in October and already have a huge wedding party. My fiancee's children, at the time will be 14 and 10. I have chosen his oldest daughter as a jr. bridesmaid and wanted his youngest too be a flowergirl. The ages of our two ringbearers are 8 and 9 and the other flowergirl is 7. He believes his daughter is too old and mature to be a flower girl, but I think she is too young to be a jr. bridesmaid. Can I have her as a page and also if she is in that role what type of attire do you suggest? Also, would it be appropriate for her to stand with the ringbearer in the cermony procession?

Thanks

Dear Jav,

A page is typically very young, about 4-6 years old. Candlelighters are usually older due to safety issues: 9-14. Your young attendants can be 9-14, so she could be a jr. bridesmaid and stand with your other attendants. Flower girls and ring bearers are usually no older than 8.

Best wishes,
